1960s
Wolyniec Construction, Inc. began as Frank Wolyniec & Sons, Inc., Concrete Constructors. The company was started by Frank Wolyniec Sr., Frank Wolyniec Jr. and James Wolyniec. The original location of the business was in a small garage behind a beer distributorship owned by Frank Wolyniec, Sr.
James Wolyniec worked full-time from the inception of the business. Frank Sr. spent his time between his beer distributorship and the concrete business. Frank Jr. taught school in the winter and worked the business in the summer. After a few years the business began to progress and Frank Sr. and Frank Jr. worked full-time with the company. The work consisted of small jobs placing concrete curb, sidewalks, patios, etc.
1970s
Frank Wolyniec & Sons became State Approved and began doing heavy highway and bridge structures for the State of PA, growing their labor force and continuing their commercial and residential work.
Through the years the family acquired Valley Petroleum, J&F Ready Mix, Wolyniec Real Estate, Allenwood Equipment and Allenwood Rental and Supply.
1990s
By this time called Wolyniec Construction, Inc., James and his son James Jr. took full ownership of the company, leading the company's growth and prosperity.
2000s
Wolyniec Construction, Inc. continued to grow and expand by increasing their equipment fleet, added services such as snow removal, while growing their amount of employees and customer base. The Millville bridge, Montoursville bridge repair, and the streetscape projects in Williamsport, Montoursville, Lock Haven and Bloomsburg are some notable completed projects during this successful decade. Sadly, in 2009, James Wolyniec passed away. His hard work and dedication to his employees and customers is greatly missed. James Jr. is now the sole proprietor of the company.
2016
Wolyniec Constuction, Inc. and J&F Ready Mix were sold by James T. Wolyniec, Jr. to Steven W. Schenck on January 1st, 2016. The transition of ownership went very well and it was business as usual. On October 21st of 2016 tragedy struck. A Flash Flood occurred with over 5 inches of rainfall in an hour. This in turn flooded the Freedom Road property with approximately 8 feet of water. Mixer Trucks, Dump Trucks, Tractors, Street Sweeper, and various other pieces equipment were a total loss. Unfortunately, even though Wolyniec Construction, Inc. was able to strive forward, J&f Ready Mix had to close the Concrete Plant.
Wolyniec Construction, Inc. is growing more and more every day from flood repair work that was done all winter long, to two (2) of the largest PennDOT Bridges the company has ever tackled. Our Curb and Sidewalk work remains the best around and with the New Power Curber machine we can pour a large amount of curb at a very reasonable price. Wolyniec Trucking has been just as busy as ever. Although, our street sweeping services have stopped, we have expanded in to more Site work, Storm Drainage, Rip-Rap, and much more.
The Wolyniec Family, we call ourselves, has been through much in the past year. In turn it has pushed us to work hard and strive to give our customers the best performance we can deliver. We believe that employees should not have numbers, but names. We look out for each other that every employee makes it home safely every day.
